A Gentle Introduction to Silk Care

A quiet silk care still life with cool water and a white towel

Silk rewards a little thoughtfulness. Before caring for any HZLISY piece, always follow the final instructions supplied with that individual product, as construction and finishes may vary.

Start gently

Handle silk with clean hands and avoid rough surfaces that may catch delicate fibres. When a piece needs refreshing, use cool water and a mild product suitable for the final fabric specification.

Keep heat low

High heat may affect silk's appearance and feel. Avoid direct heat unless the care label supplied with the product specifically allows it.

Dry with patience

Do not wring or twist wet silk. Instead, support the fabric, remove excess moisture gently with a clean towel and allow it to dry away from strong direct sunlight.

Store thoughtfully

Keep clean, fully dry silk in a calm space away from sharp accessories and strongly coloured items that may transfer dye.

This introductory guide is general information. Product-specific care instructions will be confirmed and published with every HZLISY item before launch.

Where these steps meet the collection

The pieces this guide is written around are the 14 momme square scarf, which is the most wash-sensitive item we sell, and the 22 momme slim scrunchie, which is the one that gets washed most often. If you have not bought yet and want the wider picture, start with the mulberry silk buyer's guide before the care notes.
