Why the 4 cm band
A 4 cm band sits between our slim 2 cm scrunchie and the full 5 cm band. It has enough width to read as a scrunchie in a ponytail, without the volume of a bun wrap. If 2 cm disappears on your hair and 5 cm feels like too much for a weekday, this is the middle width.
The extra 2 cm over the slim band also spreads the elastic across a slightly wider strip of hair, which is useful on medium to thick hair that still wants a tidy, everyday shape.
What 22 momme feels like
22 momme is heavy silk. In a hair accessory that weight is the point: a denser woven band with more body, so it holds a ponytail and recovers its shape after stretching, rather than going slack the way thin elastic wrapped in light fabric does.
It is also why a real silk scrunchie is a different object from the satin ones sold in a five-pack. Polyester satin can look close in a photograph. Sizes and hair types
4 cm suits medium to thick hair, half-up styles, and anyone who wants a visible but not oversized scrunchie. Fine hair, or styles where the tie should stay hidden, still fit the slim 2 cm band: the slim 2 cm scrunchie. Thick, curly or bun styles usually want the full 5 cm band: the full 5 cm scrunchie. All three are finished in the same Hangzhou workshop.

Care, shipping and returns
Hand wash in cool water with a mild silk detergent, or place in a mesh bag on a gentle cycle. Lay flat to dry, away from direct sun. Do not wring. More detail is in how to care for silk accessories.
